Fredric O. Grimm

CELINA, OH — Fredric O. Grimm, born Jan. 15, 1937, Celina, Ohio, son of Otto A. and Melva M. Kincaid Grimm, brothers Donald C. and Samuel L. Grimm both deceased. Sister, Rosalyn I. Hill of Marble Falls, Texas. Sister-in-law, Barbara Grimm, Findlay, Ohio. Survived by wife, Lynn Gardner Grimm; daughter, Alisa A. Stoll (Kenneth), Columbus, Ohio; sons, the Rev. Brian L. Grimm (Missy), Warren, Pa., and Chad C. Grimm (Kathryn) of Buckhannon, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.
 

 

Graduate of Celina High School, Ohio State University (BS and MA Degrees). Mr. Grimm was a school teacher for 28 years. Taught at Chesterville, Mount Vernon and retired from the Elyria City Schools. Mr. Grimm was employed 19 years as an examiner for the Federal Civil Service Commission, and four years by the city of Mount Vernon. He professionally prepared Taxes 10 years for H&R Block. He was past president of the LaGrange, Ohio Lions Club, and the Knox County Retired Teachers. He was a member of Mount Vernon First Church of the Nazarene, and associate member of Port Charlotte Nazarene Church in Florida. Mr. Grimm served eight years as clerk treasurer of LaGrange, Ohio, and two years as clerk of La Grange Township. Mr. Grimm served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, and was active in the yearly ship reunions of the USS Stoddard DD 566. He was an avid duplicate bridge player, achieving the rank of Bronze Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. He enjoyed playing many games with his family and friends.

Calling hours will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service at Mount Vernon First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will be performed at the church following the funeral service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
